What to expect from apartment screening
Most Houston apartment communities screen applicants, and that includes our partner properties. We will not tell you otherwise. Searches for apartments with no background check often lead to listings that do not exist, ads that are not what they seem or fees collected before any real review happens.
The better question is not whether a property screens. It is whether the property will look at your whole situation when something on your record is not perfect. Some will, and that is where we come in.
Where a second chance is possible
Some partner properties consider applicants with criminal records, case by case. Others look past a past eviction, a broken lease or a low credit score. We cannot promise how any single property will decide, and we do not claim every record is accepted. What we can do is match you with partner properties where a person reviews your application instead of a system issuing an automatic denial.
Why honesty up front helps the match
The most useful thing you can do is tell your counselor what you are worried about. If we know what might come up, we can point you toward partner properties that are open to it and away from ones that are not. That saves you application fees and the sting of another denial.
Trying to hide something rarely works. It tends to surface during screening, and then the application is denied anyway. A conversation before you apply gives you a better shot.

What it costs
